Yanagisawa T-9930 silver series tenor saxophone List Price:$10761

This instrument has only been played once
So it has been used once.
It was played by my repairman to test it.
So technically it is used.
However it is in brand new condition.

Yanagisawa has brought the instrument to the peak of its evolution with the Silver Series tenor saxophone. Solid silver gives this instrument incredible response and expressive range, as well as the ability to maintain its astonishingly clear, warm tonal center regardless of volume or pitch. Sure to become the standard in the industry. Specifications, Key Bb, Range Low Bb to high F#, Neckpipe Sterling silver, Body Sterling silver, Bell Lacquered brass, hand-engraved, Key Material Power-forged brass, Mechanism High F-sharp, distinctive octave key, per and lower rib-mounted stack posts, double-arm low B and C keys, Mouthpiece Yanagisawa Y-3705-5 steel ebonite, Case Deluxe wood-shell

I have been playing sax, clarinet, and flute since 1951.

I have been repairing instruments since 1978.

My last major concert was for a host of pretty impressive guests, Including former

President Bill Clinton,

when he was in Boston with

Senator John Kerry for a fund-raising event for

Senator Ted Kennedy.

I Played in the 22-piece John Payne saxophone choir at the Park Plaza Castle.

Security was so tight, The secret service did background checks On each musician

And we had to leave our instruments at the door

To be searched by white house staff.

Teflon octave system Both ends of the octave key axis rotate in a receptacle that is coated with teflon to insure a smooth operation every time

Rocking table mechanism The C# and Bb keys have a rocking table mechanism that allows for optimal speed and fluidity between these pitches

Double connected table key Not only are the C# and Bb keys connected with the oscillating table mechanism, but the C# and B have also adopted this same motion

F-auxiliary key mechanism Insures a proper seal of the pads when playing in the low range of the saxophone

fingers from slipping during technical passages

Ribbed construction Posts are connected to a single metal rib that is soldered to the body of the saxophone - this adds to the durability and longevity of the instrument

Metal thumb rests Both thumb rests on the saxophone are metal to match with the style of the saxophone and the right hand thumb hook is adjustable so that the performer can customize the feel of their saxophone

Pointed pivot screw The pivot screws that are used have a pointed end which facilitates an accurate center and precise action

Air-tight waterproof pad The pads are completely air-tight which supports stability in playing and their life is extended thanks to being waterproof

Blue steel springs Blue steel springs give the player quick response and are much more resilient than stainless steel (they also last much longer)

Double braced arm Two separate arms connect to the pad cup to ensure proper seating of the pad and improve the durability of the instrument

Tri-point balanced bell brace The bell and the body of the saxophone are firm connected by a tri-point balanced bell brace

History
Welcome to Conn-Selmer, the leading manufacturer and distributor of musical instruments and accessories.
The current company includes a portfolio of individual companies or brands that represent innovation,
entrepreneurship, and a focus on musical excellence. The Selmer Company,
which was comprised of brands such as Vincent Bach, Selmer, Emerson, Ludwig, Musser, and
Glaesel was a leader in American craftsmanship with operations based out of Elkhart, Indiana.

In 1995, Selmer took ownership in the Steinway Piano Company to create base of legendary brands
focused on the highest quality and reputation for musical performance and artistry.
In 1998, the Selmer Company and Steinway Musical became a publicly traded company
on the New York Stock Exchange

In 2002, the Selmer Company merged with United Musical Instruments
to form Conn-Selmer. Like the Selmer Company, United Musical Instruments
was built from brand legacies such as C.G. Conn, King, Benge, Armstrong, Artley,
and Scherl andamp; Roth. In 2005, the Conn-Selmer Company acquired the G.Leblanc Corporation.
This brought another family of brand names such as Leblanc, Vito, Holton, Martin, and Yanagisawa
into the largest US full-line manufacturer of band and orchestra instruments. In 2013,
Conn-Selmer and Steinway changed from public companies to private ones when Paulson andamp; Co became the new owner.

As the industry has evolved, Conn-Selmer has been focused on two fundamental bases
for each of these brands. The focus on US manufacturing and the highest quality standards
associated with this position can be seen in instruments produced in Elkhart, Indiana,
Cleveland, Ohio, Eastlake, Ohio, Monroe North Carolina, and LaGrange, Illinois.
An unwavering support for music education and advocacy for the arts can be seen
through leadership by Dr. Tim Lautzenheiser and the Conn-Selmer Division of Education.
